Robinhood (RBNHD) customers can currently buy and sell a range of cryptocurrencies - Bitcoin (BTC-USD), Ether (ETH-USD), and yes, Dogecoin (DOGE-USD) among them. The trade, however, occurs only with the company's app. Users are not allowed to deposit or withdraw. That's about to change, with Robinhood saying deposit/withdrawal functionality is coming (date to be determined).Alongside that announcement, Robinhood made clear that it does not "currently" invest in cryptocurrency or use any customer cryptocurrency funds for its benefit.Robinhood's announcement came at nearly the same time as a Bloomberg report alleging that the planet's largest Dogecoin wallet resides at Robinhood. For those who haven't been following along, Dogecoin was created as a joke, but that didn't stop the price from rising more than 10-fold of late, with folks like Elon Musk getting in on the fun.
